My experience with the injustice of Connecticut DCF goes back to 1998. My son was 5 almost 6 in 1998, he is now turning 14 tomorrow. I am so tired, tired of fighting and struggling and trying to do the right thing. I am numb! In 1998 they took him from me, cut off all contact....it took over 2 yrs. to get supervised visits, then it took another year and a half to get 4 hour visits and now .... nothing. Cut off again, no contact. Every time they change workers, which is like every 6 months, I am denied contact. My relationship is so severed and I have to admit, I don't know my son any more. I love him dearly but I don't know him. I am dead inside. If you want to wound a human being all you have to do is sever their children from them. Eventually over the years I have just become numb. Just so tired of this pain. Eight years is an enternity in a child's life. When he was stolen he had a big round face and chubby kissable cheeks and now he is nearly a man. I have to hope that someday when he is legally allowed to make his own decisions he will come to me. Perhaps we can have a relationship then. I am a good person, I don't do drugs, or drink or commit crimes. I am a mother to another child and she is great. I don't get why this happened to me other than I was a teen-aged mother when I had my son. You would think that DCF would want to keep the family together and help them as a whole if there are struggles, not rip the child away and have strangers raise him. I may have been young but I was a very loving nurturing mother. I was just having financial issues. DCF! Why not help the family as a whole rather than devastate it? My son was not physically or emotionally harmed in any way. I miss him! This has devastated me and I don't think I will ever be okay again. I can't imagine what my son is feeling — abandoned, unloved and possibly very very angry.

Help???? My parental rights were terminated eight years ago thanks to the abuse of family members who work for the state of Connecticut along with at the time having depression. I have weekend visitation, but I want my rights back as well as joint coustody. I am a healthy prductive member of society, with no health or mental problems, never used drugs or alcohol, just limited fiancially for legal help!! Please email if you can help. Thanks

On 6/28/06, I received an official letter from the Chief of Police, Ansonia, Connecticut, on my complaint, dated 3/28/06, concerning the conduct of Ansonia Police Officers and Luis Rivas-Vazquez, Connecticut DCF, about the removal of our two-year-old triplets, and our eleven-year-old son, by DCF on 3/7/06, 5:30PM.

This investigation determined that Officer's Adam Greco and Officer David Ireland actions were improper. As a result, administrative agency action will be taken.

As an additional note, Luis Rivas-Vazquez' supervisor, from the Hartford DCF Office of Personnel, has been notified of this investigation, and that Vazquez will be issued an infraction for two counts of Failure to Secure a Child Under the age of Six in a Child Seat.

We are, still, not satisfied enough has been done. We feel someone who is empowered by the State must ensure the safety of the children of the parents of Connecticut. Mr. Vazquez should receive a punishment GREATER than a parent making the same mistake. Mr. Vazquez should be fired from his position from reckless, intentional neglect and endangerment. Especially, since Mrs. Belko pleaded with Vazquez to take her own car seats, and he refused, all in the presence of the Ansonia Police.

My son was forced by coercion by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and the Juvenile Court to terminate his parental rights. My son was interrogated by the Enfield Police Department without an attorney present. My son never knew he had the rights mentioned on this website and I don't want this to happen to another 20 year old kid.

I came across this site after receiving a letter from DCF in Connecticut stating a case had been opened against me. To summarize my son wrote a poem in school that was about death principle turned me into DCF for it and I have now been told I am emotionally neglectful. If any one can help please let me know.

I am in the process of wrongfully being accused by Connecticut DCF for being an unfit parent to the extent of emotional neglect. I need help, as I feel I am being inadequately represented by my court assigned attorney through an approved public defense application, and am willing to work to change DCF omnipotency so that no others may have to endure such invasive actions. My children (three girls) were forcibly removed from me by police and DCF for their statement of failure to comply with orders. I am poor financially, but I believe that is my only shortcoming. I was ordered forthright to allow DCF and their services to be implemented in my home and upon me without any opportunity for challenge or recourse. DCF is wrong to be as powerful as it is and I have had the misfortune of being brought to this road in my life of righting a wrong in such a manner - I will fight for justice for all parents, children, and families for true justice so that the edict of the system is no longer considered gospel. Thank God for AFRA so that there is hope for all.

I feel that I've been victimized by CT DCF simply because I'm a single father raising my two sons 12 and 13 years of age for the last 5 years. I feel helpless as far as protecting my boys and myself from an agency that has no accountability and hides behind immunity to do what ever they please. I am a birth, adopted and foster parent and I get calls all the time from parents who need help with DCF. I see lots of injustice because of that agency. I read the letter from Aimee Dutkiewicz in the Courant and went to my computer to see if I could locate a site for information and if I could join. My real concern is children in foster care which no one can see and no one can question about their welfare, especially the children placed in orphanages all over the state. No one can trust DCF reports as to the care of these children. I know the advocate in the office of the advocate of the child. I have know Jeanne for years and I trust her but there is so much for her to do that little people get lost in the cracks. I have some experience with the legislature and I know some of the friendly legislators in Hartford. I want to be involved. I just never saw anything happening when I was involved a few years back except for the law around the office of the advocate of the child and have her be accessible to foster and birth and adoptive parents who get into it with DCF. After having the school getting mad at me checking on what my handicapped daughter was not getting for her education at school & retaliation on me by telling DCS on me and trying to get my 2 children taken away so she wouldn't have to be taught in our school system (by the way I am 66 years old and lost my wife & the school said a man shouldn't take care of my daughter (my wife was slowly dying for the last 7 years. The school said that KATHY was dirty (I gave both my wife<JOAN & KATHY baths for the last 3 years (MORE SHOULD BE SAID BUT I HAVE SAID A SMALL PART OF IT).

We are 'victims' of false accusations based on our rights to raise our children in a moral environment. Our reports came in anonymous (although DCF is suppose to 'try' to get names). After identifying the accuser no prosecution occurred which led to near murder of our children by the accuser. DCF is not for the family. False and malicious complaints could be stopped. America is not the land of the free.
