My 39-year-old son was falsely accused of sexual misconduct by his
stepdaughter. SRS took over. The girl was whisked away to a foster
home (protective) that same day. My son is diabetic and has seizures.
He was having them when they dragged him to the police station. The SRS
and cops interrogated him and are saying he confessed. He told me he
did not. SRS threatened to never let my daughter-in-law have the girl
back unless she divorced him, and unless she could think of
incriminating things to tell them. She could not believe he did it, but
did divorce him. He has been in the Ft. Scott, Ks jail for 16 months
awaiting trial. There are ten girls in Ft. Scott HS who have all made
accusations of rape against fathers, stepfathers and boyfriends. Some
of these girls have falsely reported before. It is the same for all the
fathers and stepfathers. SRS withholds their children, until they plead
guilty. Most have already pled to something they did not do. My son
told them to take it to trial, because he didn't do anything. He is
charged with over 300 years of charges if he loses.

I am fighting Miami County SRS and understand from
several law firms that they are ruthless in their
tactics, a regular Gestapo. My 3 kids have been placed
with their grandparents (thank God) until this is

I am guilty, I lost control and shook my son four years
ago, instead of just punishing me, they took him away
from his mother, made her take drug classes (She's NOT a
user) and it took her eight months to get him back. My
son is healthy and happy and I've spent the last 4 years
getting psychological counseling and fighting CPS and
parol. I will never understand why they punished my
wife, took my son away from his mother> WOMEN NEED
PROTECTION FROM THIS HEARTLESS ENTITY!!!!!!!

existence. Once dad is out of the picture (you admitted

Comments: I have become active in trying to gain
temporary custody of my grandchild after unsubstantiated
abuse findings of SRS towards my son and wish to learn
more about grandparents rights and the rights of keeping
a family unit together. I disagree with most of the
actions being taken in this particular case and

My husband and I really wish we would have had your advice to not talk
to the police. We home school our 10 year old boy who is gifted in math
and science, but can't spell and has difficulties with language
therefore was denied access to the public school's gifted program. My
daughter Ana broke her arm by falling off the bed. Because it was a
spiral break, and current prejudice this county has against those kinds
of injuries always being abusive (although current medical literature
does convincingly suggest otherwise), my family has been dragged through
the mud. The police interrogated me, my children and coerced a
confession from my daughter, Kaylana. They did not use any standard
guidelines in interviewing an eight year old child rather they treated
her like an adult criminal. And used statements like "you are only
making things worse" when she told them the truth and stuck to her
story. They interviewed her for two hours and then lied to her, and
then when she repeated back their lie that "I felt bad I twisted Ana's
arm that's what the police men said." They then dropped the "that's what
the police men said" part and used it as a statement against me.
Fortunately we did not lose custody of our children, but I lost my day
care license and we have had to pay thousands of dollars in attorney's
fees. They video taped my daughter's statement, and then were very
reluctant to release it to my attorney. Ironically they promised my
husband (which is in the records) they would not harass my children.
They not only harassed my children, they abused my daughter. My two
daughters are now in counseling to help them resolve the trauma that the
police did to them. My daughter Ana who is six years old never had
experienced any kind of physical accident and was traumatized by her
broken arm and then had to endure being questioned by the police. She
also has difficulty expressing herself because she is in speech therapy.
The case is now in the process of being dismissed, and we have survived
(knock on wood) the SRS involvement. I thought you would like to know
the opposition to our family (social services and district attorney)
thought the reason my son was being home schooled was so that I would
have him around to help with my day care! It was hilarious. If they
could have only known how hard it has been to home school my son! I had
been piled up with a lot of extra work trying to home school him and
watch all of my preschoolers! My husband and I are interested in
pursuing a civil case against this county. We want to change it so when
children are interviewed by the police that there is an advocate present
to make sure they are not denied their civil rights or coerced into
making false statements or confessions. Thank you for your

Sumner county has it in for me and my husband. For once
the SRS is in our favor but the DA and the Judge here is
not. SRS said to send them home and the judge wants us
to jump thru 10000 hoops and we are still not getting

My children and I are victims of CPS and PAS both after
five years of running from the abuse as was directed by
CPS, now they say I have poisoned my children against
their father and have taken my children away and placed
them with their father who found by the Kansas courts to
be guilty of child abuse. For the period of one year

We want to try to make a difference because our teenage daughter has
falsely accused her dad of beating her. There is a veiled sense of
realization conveyed by the Farm, Inc. case worker that this is a child
that just wanted everything her way and wanted to "destroy" her dad for
restricting her and disciplining her. But the process is started and
SRS has declared my husband a "danger to children". According to them,
he is a child abuser and a neglectful father. The SRS agent has never
even attempted to interview him nor our son who was an eyewitness to the
event. There is no "due process" and we like the changes that AFRA has
proposed for the CAPTA law. Please let us know what we can do very
soon. We plan to be at the state capital and let our senators know our
concerns. Thanks for your website. It really helped us to know that
we're not alone.

I am trying to get placement of my 2 yr old granddaughter. She was
taken from my arms while her mother was hospitalized for detoxing off
the meds her shrink had her on. My granddaughter was allegedly sexually
abused in May. SRS did several poly-graph tests and interviews, knowing
just by looking at her how comatose my daughter was on her meds, they
gave her a polygraph and she failed! They have already put her in the
SRS registry for sexual abuse and neglect. My daughter did not do this.
The most she is guilty of is being overmedicated and not supervising who
was watching her daughter. I know of other suspects and SRS has closed
the case! In the meantime she is in foster care w/the farm but SRS is
trying to come up with reasons for me not to get my granddaughter, even
though I passed all the requirements for placement? In the meantime-
during my unsupervised visits w/ her, and talking to her case worker, I
believe something not right is going on while she is in foster care and
may actually be in danger???? I have a lawyer whom I call daily. He
doesn't return my calls but the couple of times I have spoke to him he
tells me not to worry they have no reason not to give me placement? Our
last court date the county att. didn't notify the sperm donor so we
have to wait again till mid November..... any advice or comments has
anyone else dealt w/Cherokee county?

My daughter has been kept from me since she was a month
old. In September of 2003 my cousins tried to say that
she had been abused by me and the father which was a
lie. I have never abused my child. so now she is in
temporary custody through SRS and living with my cousins
in Reno county, Kansas. The judge looks at us as if she
was taken away from us but she wasn't.

SRS took our child in 10/27/03. They used total innuendo and lies but
the court just sat there and smiled like a Cheshire cat. The
documentation they use is in their hands and is altered and abused at
least as badly as they claim my wife and I do. Our child has ADHD,
bipolar issues and autism. We have told them of her treatment and
issues and her locations to get her medical history and they ignore us.
It almost cost her life twice. She's a special issue as she is ours by
blood and Indian style family adoption. My wife is Cherokee and when
the possibility of native American lineage came up they blew it off. It
isn't America anymore.

My 3 children were taken by the Reno Co. "child abduction service"
S.R.S. and have been placed in foster care where they are being
mistreated and getting into a lot of trouble. I can't seem to get
anyone to listen or even care about what is being done to my children.
This system has violated our civil rights in more ways than one, it has
knocked me down time after time, and now it seems to be hell bent on
keeping me down. I have had all I can take and been kicked around
enough. I need all the help and advice I can get so I can give these
back to this system what is has given to my family. Any assistance will
be greatly appreciated. This can be made public, it is time these
people are held accountable for the lives they destroy.

Thank God that I have found an organization that can help me in my
struggle to get custody of my children back. The Kansas SRS had
absolutely no viable reason to take my children and terminate my
parental rights. Now they indicate that my children will not be placed
with my father. My father meets all of the criteria for placement and
then some. The Kansas SRS is doing this simply as a personal vendetta
against me because I am outspoken, and standup to them and let them know
what they are and why they are doing it. This is an abomination before
God and all of humanity. My civil rights have been violated. How can
this happen in our so called "free society" and a so called "free
country". I did not know that we lived in a dictatorship where the
rights of a citizen can be terminated at the whim of some overzealous
SRS Kansas Klodhoppers. My children were always taken care of by me ( I
rarely left them with someone else) (my house was never dirty or
cluttered) (and my children were always fed and never went hungry). Any
help form anyone would be deeply appreciated. Thanks for letting me

My 2 teens, 13 & 16 kidnapped from school by SRS. SRS/Family
Preservation/DCCCA first claimed house was dirty, cluttered. When my
senior citizen parents helped reengineer the apartment, then SRS/Family
Pres/DCCCA claimed I was mentally unstable and used my brain injury from
1990 and resulting disabilities (from same beating) to put my children
in foster care. The court simply nodded and let them lie about me.
There are no allegations of abuse nor neglect to date. My kids want to
come home. I want my kids home. They keep moving the 13 yr old to a
new foster home every time she has PMS.

I am from Topeka Kansas and I got stuck here 5 months ago in Bakersfield
California. My son was taken into cps and I am down here trying to get
us transferred back home. The cps sent the interstate compact transfer
papers to Kansas and we are waiting on a response back from them. That
was about 2 weeks ago that the papers were sent off. By federal law my
son and I are residents of Kansas and not California. What is the

My family spent 4 years "imprisoned" by the child welfare system when my
3 nephews were taken into custody... I swore I would do would I could
to make positive changes. I went to work for a foster care agency and
found that the system was more corrupt than I had even imagined. Many
of the good social workers are being run off by the "not for profits"
that are all about the money and the rest of the social workers that are
in need of mental health services more than many of the clients. I
spoke up about the illegal and unethical practices and was promptly
fired.

Anybody that knows how to fight corruption in my local CPS
department...please help me. They waited 3 weeks before starting a
sexual abuse investigation with my 3 year old... by that time all
physical evidence was gone and all we have is the Doctor's report...
They say that it never happened and I'm just being a vindictive ex-wife.
(It is interesting to note that my daughter told them who, what, when,
where and how she was touched). They are sending my daughter back to
her abuser's house... Please help me stop them!!
