I'm writing cause I think it's unfair what DSS is doing
to me. I still have my daughter, but I'm so scared of
what they can do. I'm at that point in my case where I
have to sign that "service plan". I know deep down in
my heart I did nothing wrong for them to be bothering me
about. So I find it hard to keep calm when talking to
my worker. Now she says I have anger issues. I feel
like she's pulling shit out of her ass to say against
me, cause she really has nothing in the first place.
But I'm still worried. I need help, but I don't have
much money. Can someone help me?

I've had unfortunate first-time experience with DSS in Mass. A Brockton
school overzealously filed a 51A for suspected sexual abuse because of
typical rambuncious behavior of my six-year-old son. When telling my
story, I keep finding more & more people saying "join the club (of

I am a widower living in Boston. I lived in NoVA for ten years. During
that time, I had four children, and lost them to Fairfax DFS/DSS. The

I think judges and lawyers being DISBARRED is second best idea on this
website. The first is vacating 51As. I will be the first to admit I
have defied the system. DSS took away my two children behind my back 7
months ago for a simple matter and lots of twisted garbage as has been
described by others, which is under Fair Hearing, and Judge DiLeo, a
female judge, ordered no visitation. I see my kids at their games and
call police on my ex when he denies me rights to talk to, write or see
them, or acts irrationally about other things. People in Barre do
everything short of burning crosses on my yard anyway, so all of my
personal information is freely up here, I defy others to try anything
they already haven't.

I fought DSS and won my son back home, now I am fighting DSS not
watching over my daughter while she is with our abuser in his custody.
He has a record of domestic violence and we are punished for that. My
daughter has asthma and her inhaler was withheld until I complained for
2 months. Judges and DSS do not listen to abused mothers, and we are
further victimized by the system. Our children are not heard for their
complaints, my daughter is now on too many psych drugs and they are
harming her. I don't like to see other families victimized by the
system. I have an unlisted, private group for the safety of moms.

Had my 9 year old taken away last August by DSS. You are totally
correct about the dirty tricks they played. Got a court appointed
attorney and don't know if all efforts have been made. So you do things
yourself: You can obtain a copy of DSS Policies and Procedures at the
State Bookstore located in the State House. It costs $13.95. Get it,
read it and use it. I found 63 glaring violations of Policies and
Procedures, get your 51A's and B's ... lets not forget form 29 and file
an abuse of discretion for the violations and the lies in 51's and 29's,
and remember, you are entitled to the whole file. If you can't afford a
lawyer and the court appoints one, use him and direct him, to have the
court can pay for independent evaluations, expert witnesses etc.
Remember DSS is waiting for the 12 months of foster care so they can
start putting your child up for adoption. We will be filing our motion
soon. Will let you know how I made out.

I would like to join the AFRA because me and my wife have been
victimized by DSS. We have two children together and she has one of her
own who has been in DSS custody for a year. They kept saying he was too
unstable to come home. My wife is a recovering drug addict and has not
been using drugs but they keep saying she has been failing her test as
ordered by her service plan. I have never been shown my service plan
never mind signed one but they came into our home and took our other two
children saying that she failed her drug test and that both of us have
failed to comply with our service plan. like I said I have never gotten
a service plan so how can I not be complying with something I never got
or signed? I have never had a problem with drugs but they keep saying
they want me to drug test. I work to support my family and do not have
time for these silly tests when I have never done anything to give them
reason to what me to do or have not sign a plan ordering me to. I am
tired of their abuse and they are just mad at me for not letting them
bully me. I would appreciate any help I can I can get. We have been in
contact with attorney Greg Hession but he said at the moment he is to
full up with cases and to try back later but I did learn a lot from his

On Greg Hession's advice, I would like to join with you and AFRA to help
stop the destruction of fatherhood, the traditional family and our
children. Our coalition
CASK
- the Coalition Against State-Sanctioned Kidnapping is a
coalition of victims who have had their children OR SENIORS kidnapped
under color of law by courts that illegally altered court hearing tapes
or transcripts. CASK was formed to re-submit our cases to the DOJ -
since we were met with contempt when we applied as individuals. We are
in the process of re-applying using the federal criteria of "a
widespread pattern and practice of illegal activity." You see? As
individuals we don't trigger any federal help - but as a coalition we
meet the "widespread pattern and practice" criteria. Our first CASK
member to reapply to the DOJ was in Indiana - the judge has been removed
from the bench!!!!!!! The FBI told them to re-apply for child custody.

My husband and I have been wrongfully accused of neglecting our
17-year-old daughter - she will be 18 in two months. I am a
stay-at-home mom and have home-schooled my children for most of their
educational career, they are now in public school. My family went on a
working vacation. I was told by a local police officer that because my
daughter was 17 I could not force her to go where she did not want to
go. She did not want to go with us, but I had arranged for someone to
care for her. The police officer (I believe) reported us to DSS. The
social worker assigned to our case is a former client of mine; I run an
obedience school and boarding facility. She left a vicious dog. She
asked me what I would do with it if it were my dog, I told her it was an
unpredictable dog and I would put it down. The 10 day investigation has
now turned in to 45 days. My daughter's guidance councilor at school is
forcing my daughter to see the school psychologist. The psychologist is
trying to get my daughter to say she is angry at us for leaving her
home. MASSACHUSETTS, I am appalled at the number of families being
destroyed at the hands of DSS, the corrupt court system AND OUR SO
CALLED ATTORNEYS- THEY SHOULD BE DISBARRED!

The DSS case against us began as a threat made by my wife Sherri's
ex-husband. Since then, DSS has come into our home and accused us of
unspeakable things regarding Sherri's children. We did none of the
things that we were accused of. Since then, a service plan was
presented to us that was nothing more than a legal admission of guilt.
I saw right through it and we both refused to sign it. Since then,
Sherri has not been allowed to see her children. It has been two years
now. DSS has denied us our fair hearing sighting, they don't have the
funds to give us one. Since our court case began, every motion Sherri's
attorney has filed has been denied. Information on this case has been
withheld from Sherri's attorney, and when he finally had received it,
the judge ruled it was too late for any motions to be filed, hence all
were rejected. The children have both made statements. The accusations
against Sherri and me are untrue yet, these statements have been
ignored. The judge is a former DSS attorney and has refused to recuse
herself from this case. The trial hadn't even started yet and she made
the statement that this won't take long, one day should be enough. The
judge has been pleasant to the DSS attorney and the social workers but,
Sherri's attorney is treated with total disrespect and contempt. In
addition, I have been prohibited from the courtroom during the trial and
prevented from having a lawyer present. They know I am not someone they
can coerce, or manipulate, I just get more determined to fight back. We
do know the truth and, no matter what they do, they can't take that from
us.

My husband and I were falsely accused by DSS over a period of 18 months.
We have done a total turnaround on the merit of DSS in MASS society.
Problem was, lots of what they did was within legal parameters, as it
stands now, the Agency is 80% good but the bad is just SO stinky I think
its harder and harder to justify any of it. Because we are Southerners
and have connections outside of the state that are not under DSS
jurisdiction, I think that helped us immeasurably. What I found
shocking was the amount of employees who literally never had a clue
about the big picture. The air of arrogance at DSS really makes some
people think they are flawless. I could expound for hours, but... We
fought (with our lawyer) and prevailed, but we learned OH SO MUCH. Hope
we were able to impact the DSS agency - there are so many systemic
impediments. Hard to tell where the stupidity ended and the fraud and
lies picked up. Went thru all their dirty tricks. They play fast and
loose with individual's constitutional protections - they made us think
we had done something wrong - they are just bullies who seem to think
it's acceptable to citizenry for DSS to actually trample on 14th
Amendment with impunity and disregard statutes that don't work for them.
I was so fortunate to have so many people around me who gave me strength
- and knowing you're right and moral goes a long way.

Massachusetts DSS in Holyoke, Massachusetts, they (DSS) without even
talking with me filed a 51a with the family courts and the Massachusetts
State police, after a very thorough investigation no charges were ever
filed against me. I went to court and had the 51a vacated by the family
court judge. In the meantime the "TYRANTS" at DSS still have done
nothing to reunite me with my daughter (Iris). I find it so very hard
to believe that they (DSS) are held accountable to no one and do
everything in there power to break all THEIR rules and regulations. My
constitutional and civil rights have been breached in so many ways by
these TYRANTS at DSS. I have found that there are VERY FEW lawyers who
will stand up for our rights against the dirty tricks DSS pulls on the
innocent. We must stand up for our rights and fight the DSS in a court
of law and change the way DSS operates. DSS is accountable to no one,
and no one can stop them, unless the state legislature or a higher court
steps in and changes the state of the law.

I understand the need for society to protect abused children, however,
the reality is that most people are more concerned about protecting
themselves. The result is that mandated reporters file on ridiculous
allegations and DSS supports them because they don't want to lose their
jobs. It is not about child safety. It is about a paper trail. This
system puts children at much greater risk for psychological damage than
occasional corporal punishment.

I know several parents who have been abused by DSS in Massachusetts.
While trying to help them, I found just how corrupt and arrogant this
agency is. In my mind this a blight on freedom and a misuse of
government power. I helped rid Massachusetts of "rent control" which is
based on misuse of government and violated the U.S. Constitution. Yet,

My son was "stolen" because of a dispute with our local spec ed
department over needed reading therapies, who then called in DSS in
Massachusetts as a back-up to blame us the parents. When in DSS custody
our son was beaten, held down by staff sustaining serious permanent
injuries. Also siblings were separated from each other. My youngest
suffered second degree burns foster mother taking his bedtime bottle
away without weaning. All without any due process, bypassing our rights
