charges of educational neglect after a major car
accident that I was in and bogus report from meddling
neighbor, claiming I left my eight-year-old child home
alone for eight hours. Yet I was never arrested and he

home alone. Too many thing to write about and not

In 1998, I had two newborn babies seized from me by the Orange County
Department Of Social Services, when I resided, in Middletown, NY; due
to false allegations that were downright vicious! I have been trying
ever since to get them back, so far, no luck. My rights were
terminated, and my children, a daughter, now age 9; and a son, now age
8 were adopted against my will, by close, personal friends of the Senior
Assistant County Attorney that represented DSS in the case against me
(Peter R. Schwarz). I was also screwed over big time, by the lawfirm
that represented me; Greenwald Law Offices. The owner and founder of
this law firm, Gary Greenwald, didn't care if I got my kids back or not.
He was out to promote his daughter, Joanna Greenwald, to some type of
superstar, for women's rights. I found out after the fact that Joanna
Greenwald was fired from the Brooklyn District Attorney'S Office, for
incompetence! Both Gary and Joanna continue to lie about Joanna's
qualifications and experience! I met Joanna, in October,2000; at a
group meeting of the Orange County Safe Homes Project; a domestic
violence organization. Joanna was well-rehearsed, not to mention
well-prepped by her father, Gary. They have verbally abused, revealed
confidentialities, and chiseled numerous helpless, defenseless women,
among them victims of domestic violence! Please stay away from this law

On March of this year they took my two-month-old baby. She is now five
months and they said I was starving her. Then they placed her in foster
care and gave me custody of my four others and then in May of this year
my husband, who there was a order of protection against by the court,
showed up at my house while my kids were sleeping and my friend called
the police and my husband and myself got arrested and I lost my kids
because he showed up at my house. My kids are not even in the same home
and they see each other every other day for two hours. I NEED HELP I
DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I was attacked by CPS in Otsego County New York ten years ago when I
lost my son in a drowning accident. I was placed on the state registry,
I am fighting to have my name removed. What I would really like is to
have the worker who emotionally abused my other children punished, and
to help revise this horror of a system. I now advocate for other
families and children for free, I fight the system every chance I can.
I will finish my associates in Criminal Justice in December 2007, I want
to work somewhere that I can be an active part of stopping this system
and preventing the torture and torment of the American family. I am
willing to scream from the rooftops in front of the whole nation to
bring change to this system. I am considered one of the "poor" that
they like to attack, but I have made myself educated over the last ten
years so that I can be their worst nightmare for a change. Anything
that will allow me to help bring attention to this program and what it
really does is acceptable to me. In the memory of my beautiful little
boy, I will die trying to change this system if need be.

My three beautiful children were kidnapped LITERALLY by CPS of Erie
County five years ago. I have tried ever since to find help. I was
assigned a court appointed PRETENDER who did absolutely nothing
including not showing up for court most the time. My rights as a mother
were terminated, my youngest is in Georgia, my daughter lives five
blocks away (I moved to be closer) and my eldest son was moved to Angola
because he stated he was old enough to come home. I was charged with
medical neglect because the school system called and "claimed" my son
wasn't being given his Ritalin. I was never investigated, nor was my
home - they just took my children. My children have been physically,
emotionally and sexually abused in foster care and medically neglected
and the state didn't listen to me. This just about killed me literally,
and now I am just a shell of a body living till the good lord (or
whoever runs the show up there) takes me. I filed an appeal (or my
pretender did) the day they terminated my rights, and to this day I have
heard nothing about a court date and I have written so many letters to
the courts over the years asking about it. I am joining in hope for
somebody out there to help me. Our rights have been walked all over and
I just don't know what to do anymore.

On 5/12/06 I was informed that my case is UNFOUNDED but OPEN. The
charges: My son is dirty. My son's clothes are dirty. My son does not
attend school. Misc. I am on drugs. An unknown man walks in and out
of my house. All these charges have been proven FALSE yet they still
hound my son and me. ACS (CPS in NYC) has been harassing me and my son
since January 11, 2006. It is now May 15, 2006. I have complied with
them, on 4/26/06 ACS held a 72 hour notice meeting, I agreed to all
terms. The third parties involved: Protective Services, Self Help
(homemaking) got their info mixed up causing my case problems. I am
still being threatened by ACS that they can take my son away any time
they want to..I as well as my son are traumatized by all this. I want
it to end. I would like to join to help myself but ALSO to help other

The laws that govern CPS need to change. Our government

when the monetary value of children is involved. There
are laws against selling children, so don't sell ours!

sent a letter to the Commissioner of New York State. Hopefully, he is
taking it quite seriously. They had proclaimed they were getting the
doctor for her Bipolar. They knew she had a problem. They toyed with
her and tossed her around like a rubber ball while watching her suffer.
Many months later, someone in their office said it was their
responsibility. I was surprised that it took so long. Meanwhile my
daughter got worse and worse with all the inhumane acts that happened to
her. False accusations were made on her and she has a personality
disorder, so it only worked against her. However, she did not do any of
the things they claimed she did, yet she got to see and hear some of the
cruel things the foster mother said to her. I am so appalled at all of
this. Please write back! I have a long letter that I wrote to the
Commissioner that I sent notarized and certified. Please write!

We need help we had our grandchildren taken away from us by Orange
county, New York CPS. They lied and confused the children. Their false
statements have kept us from seeing them for 6 months now. They have
been separated and abused by the system. All three have been bruised by
someone that they are with. My husband and I want them back. Their
mother doesn't want them. Their father is too busy for them even though
he does keep his visitations. (He is our son). CPS has refused my
other son from gaining custody or foster care for them. There is an
order of protection on us from seeing the 2 boys or talking to them. We
can only talk to our granddaughter if her doctor allows it. They all
have medical problems. When this all started in September 2004 CPS
worker said that they had no problems and the doctors that we took they
to didn't know what they were doing. She said that we were the
children's problem. Well since they've had them one boy is in a
residential home, the other boy and girl have been separated in separate
foster homes with a threat that this boy will also be placed in a
residential home. The original foster parents couldn't handle all 3 and
just kept the girl. She has come to the visitations with bruises all
over her body, but the father is not allowed to ask her any questions
about how she got them. The children are not allowed to tell him
anything about what happens where they are staying. We want to try
regaining custody. We are in our 60's and need a lawyer. We don't have
any funds. Can you advise.

The problem I have is that I took out a pins on my Daughter because she
kept running away with her boy friend they put her away for two month
now they are taking my husband to court for child support they say he
has to pay 198.00 per day for her and she was there 58 days and he is
her step father. Now she came home April 20 and they put her on
probation but she took off 13 days later because I found her talking
with the boy friend and they told her if she had contact with him she
would be put away. She though I was going to tell her probation. So
she took off now the probation took out a pins on her and we went to
court today and the judge order a warrant for her arrest they said since
she 16 now that she will go to jail my daughter is not a criminal she
only confuse I don't think she belongs in Jail. She contact us and I
will not give her up if they are going to put her in jail. The judge
told me it not in your hands you lost your right I try dropping the pins
before and they pay me know mind. They just did what they wanted they
also said that the reason they are taking my husband to court and not
her real dad is because they said my husband make more money we have to
go to the support court the 25 of this month but mean while I don't know
what to do with my daughter I will not turn her in.

Yesterday was the worst day of my life. My mother, who

info on my child's civil liberties. We were served with
a PINS petition yesterday, due my sons school attendance
record since fourth grade. My 14 yr old son was on the
Honor Roll all of last year, and has never once been

hearing" today was with an "officer" who told my son she

Columbia County CPS took our daughter after SHE kicked her mother and
older sister hit her. They acuuse us of neglect and all we did was try
to prevent her leaving the house. The State Police investigated as well
as Chris Groll from the Columbia County CPS at the same time. Although
the police saw the incident for what it was the CPS people took our kid
charged us with neglect, used selective statements to the family court
judge and lied to us. After much research I have to believe that some
of this is due fact that CPS gets money from the federal govt. For each
child seizure and I believe that Columbia County uses this as a cash cow
as evidenced by recent newspaper articles that show that Columbia County
has the highest percentage of child seizures in NYS. Is there a lawyer
out there that has enough backbone to take the system on and hold them
accountable for abuse of power and put a stop to this ?

Someone was using CPS to harass me throughout the 1980's. In 1989, I
was falsely accused of neglect, and according to CPS, the report was
indicated. The first time I was made aware of this "indicated" report
was 1999, at which time CPS and the court gave me custody of my
daughter's friend who was abused. Shortly after this, my 3 year old
granddaughter was murdered and my grandson removed from my daughter.
Due to the "indicated" report, I could not get custody of my grandson.
In 2000, my daughter had another baby. This child was removed when she
was seven months old. I petitioned for custody twice and tried to adopt
her, but the petitions were dismissed and the judge let the foster
parents adopt her. In April 2003, my daughter had another baby. This
granddaughter was removed from the hospital when she was two days old
and placed with her adopted sister. Due to a family emergency, my
daughter failed to make the court date and was found guilty of abuse.
The judge fired her lawyer and told CPS they do not have to work on
reunification. I have petitioned three times for her and all petitions
were denied. On June 15, 2004, the judge is terminating my daughter's
parental rights. I want my granddaughter, but I cannot get her. Why
was I good enough to have custody of a child not related to me, but I'm
not good enough to have custody of my own granddaughter?

My Husband & I are 38 year old Grandparents. Our 6
month old Grandson has been in 3 different Foster Homes
in less than 2 months. We aren't even considered now
for placement. The courts are considering a woman
that's not his aunt, but said she is. Just another
stranger to him. When our own children do wrong by
their children, why do the Grandchildren suffer?

are OUT OF COMPLIANCE for receiving the Federal Funding.
Kinship placements are supposed to be the FIRST thing
they do. But there's NO MONEY in that for the
system.

I am writing to you to tell you briefly that my husband & I live in
subsidized housing for senior citizens & disabled individuals &
wanted to adopt where we live & were denied because it is for
seniors only & no children are allowed. My husband & I want a
family very much & feel that this is in violation of our rights.
We strongly value the rights of families & children & would

It seems the official attitude is that kids are a
disease, they are too rowdy, must live in very special institutions and
must be kept drugged in order to turn out the way the government wants
them- stupid and grey. It seems to be part and parcel of the National
Schizophrenia of Socialist New Age Politically Correct "thinking".

sabotaged at every turn, and blamed for the kid's behavior, just like

A special Valentines for hubby late February 15 (after kids to bed) a
depressing conversation about money led to hubby going out to the car
(for cigs) I was worried, left a note to kids that I would be right
back. Hubby screeched out of driveway and a block down saw an on coming
car. To get out of the way he hit a parked car. All insurance was
paid. I tried to run back to kids but passed out from concussion.
Police went instead and took them to neighbor who is like their aunt.
CPS came and all was over, all said OK. Till the principal at kids
school got wind and called CPS WITH FALSE ALLEGATIONS that kids were not
clothed or fed. With nothing prior not even a traffic ticket I had to
get a lawyer and appear in court. A 1027 was issued for immediate
removal of kids. Lawyer was lost. We got to keep kids and had to have
a trial. That was yesterday. Lawyer did not prepare us and I don't
think he knew what he was doing. We do not use any drugs at all, no
drinking history except socially and a very VERY clean record, kids are
A students. To this day, law guardian has claimed to me she will get my
kids. CPS investigator was on our side, EAC testified on our side but
CPS ongoing case worker was weak Hubby was put on stand and froze. He
implemented things that were taken so wrong and it was destructive to
us. Now I am guilty of abuse/neglect. Order of protection is served.
CPS to see us till forever and since I refused we now go to a summary
trial (?) lawyer says "you did the crime now pay the time. WHAT DO I
DO??????????? I WANT TO DIVORCE HUBBY AND LEAVE.

like mine and he knows a lot of Lawyers in Watertown New
York that had cases like mine and he said to me. Ya

CPS is way overboard and the lawyers appointed are
biased along with the judges and families are treated
like do it or else with the kids in the middle and a pay
check in their pocket along with the system telling you
that you can't use your constitutional rights. The
worker wants to come no 1 a week because of an order of
supervision that I feel should be appealed —
lawyer said no grounds for one. NEED HELP.

CPS appeared in my life 2 weeks ago. I immediately got
an attorney and began incessant research on the
internet. The more I read, the more terrified I am. I
am terrified for myself and can feel the pain and
frustration of others who have had the tragedy of
meeting this agency. I have taken a week off of work so
I can take my daughter to school in the morning and pick
her up. I am terrified they will take her, though I
have a good attorney and have gotten favorable
evaluations of my daughter as 'suggested' by CPS. For
me this will be over soon, but I see for others it may
never end and I would like t help.

I would like to find more information on how we go about making DSS, our
counties, and states accountable for their blatant misuse of power. As
soon as I get my children back, I have every intention of becoming
EXTREMELY vocal about what they did to me and my family, and I would
like to become more informed. I would also like to help other families
who are going through similar situations. I, for one, had NO idea of my
rights, I mean the worst thing I have ever done is gotten a speeding
ticket. I have also NEVER abused or mistreated any child. I believe I
was targeted because I have healthy, well cared for children, the reason
I believe this is because they were immediately targeted for adoption.
Before this happened I would never have thought that they could just
take your kids. But now I plan on making it a mission to help keep this
from continuing. I need help in knowing how to organize and get
started. I hope your group can help.

Politically. Don't want to explain what happened, but the politicians
today are no good. They are only out for themselves and their wallet.

Orange country has the worst system I ever seen. I moved to upstate
N. Y to give my Girls a better Life. Instead I come here to Orange
country and my daughter gets raped by a fifteen year old boy. He also
raped another girl and he got away with both because he is a minor.
What do I care that he a minor. He knew what he was doing. I think he
should pay the price just like an adult. I feel like this- you commit
the crime you pay the crime. I feel it all Political Only because they
don't want to have a juvenile center. They don't want to pull out the
money. You do something like this where I use to live (in the Bronx)
and you're gone. If not the people will be after you.
Another problem here in Orange country is the school system- One high
school for all Newburgh and New Windsor, Vail Gate. Come on give me a
break. I have to break my butt and live paycheck to paycheck just to
send my girls to a Catholic school just to keep them from going to NFA.
Where everyone does what they want. Take some money out your wallets
and build another High School.

I found your site while looking up grandparents rights. I have to fight
my daughter and her in-laws (outlaws) to get to see my grandson. I am
not some kind of criminal, and the state laws in their state say that I
can petition for visitation and get it if it is "in the best interest"
of the child. I am looking for ways to fight for this right if I have
to. I guess from public record that my son-in-law is a convicted child
abuser (anyone can have a child these days) and has been convicted of
terroristic threatening his first wife with a 9mm handgun. I am just an
adult student and home maker who has never been convicted of anything,
not even a traffic ticket! I ought to be able to see this child.

My daughter lost custody of her children to her abuser,
her ex-husband after CPS indicated her for "allowing her
children to witness violence". They were present the
when he beat her the day she left with the children and
fled to the court for 'protection.' The court awarded
custody of her children to the abuser. CPS needs to
have their reign ended. The court systems need cleaning
and disinfecting.

My 13 year old daughter was placed in a group home because of a PINS
violation. When I tried to get her returned to her home after a six
months court ordered stay, I was told her behavior was my fault. CPS
and Family Placement which was now in charge claimed there was safety
issues in my home. My daughter is now sixteen and in foster care. They
have brain washed her that I didn't know how to parent a teenager and
she does not want to return home. CPS workers lied on the stand in
every hearing in order to continue her out of home placement. They
never intended to have her return to her home. The family court rubber
stamped the county's wishes every time. This a parent's worst
nightmare. Thank you for doing such a great web page. God bless you
